How Qash works
Four steps, all calculated on your device with plain rules you can check.
-
Add what comes in and goes out
Type an amount, snap a receipt, or upload a CSV or OFX statement from your bank. Statements are read on your device; duplicates are skipped; account numbers are masked to their last four digits.
-
See money in & out
This month's In, Out and what you kept, by category and by account, with the change from last month. Transfers between your own accounts are left out so nothing counts twice.
-
Look 30 days ahead
Bills and paydays the app noticed in your history, which you confirm. The forecast shows your estimated balance day by day and the first day it would dip below your buffer, with the amount.
-
Save into jars
Pick what for, how much and by when; the app tells you the amount per week or per paycheck. Log deposits as you make them. Run a monthly savings challenge with friends, ranked by percent of each person's own target, never by dollars.
Statements we read
CSV and OFX/QFX from any bank, read on your device and never uploaded. PDF statements come later. Pay stubs aren't read; income comes from deposits in your statements or what you enter.
What we never do
- See your bank password. On Connected, linking is read-only through Plaid, on your bank's own sign-in page.
- Sell or share your data. No ad trackers.
- Use AI to read your money. Every number is plain arithmetic you can check.
- Move money for you. Jars are labels on money you set aside.
